People react differently to the people by their surroundings, and at everyday life, people normally have few amount of interest to others. Author resolved this situation by selecting airport, to bring about our attention towards others. He wanted the readers to think about each other and feel their lives, situations, and behaviors. Living in the 21C, which era that is deficient in caring about others, author delivers a message to sharing life with others.

ReplyDeleteRight now your controlling purpose is about Sedaris' purpose, instead of *your* purpose. You say what Sedaris does (selecting airport to bring our attention towards others) and why he does it (think about each other) but you never say why this matters to you, the reader. Talking about it in a personal way--what is at stake for you--is key to the goals and outcomes about the controlling purpose.
Also think about being more specific--what specifically does Sedaris want the readers to think about? What situations or behaviors do you mean? Answering those questions might help you narrow your controlling purpose.
