Assignment 3

I think that Sedaris wrote this Essay mostly because he wanted to show readers his experiences in the airports. He wanted to give peoples' appearance, living, by showing his situations that he encountered at the airport. He show the saying and behavior of the Woman in 70s with her grandkids, and he described the dressing of those grandkids briefly. He also looked the family consist of 5,  with couple in 50s and three teenagers. He saw people who are complaining about their lives under rule of Barak Obama, blaming his government as communist.

The author thinks a lot about the true beings of us, which can be shown on "But what if this is who we truly are, and the airports's just a forum that allows us to be our real selves, not just hateful but gloriously so?(277)". He saw each forms of different individual beings in the airport. Grandmother sending her grandkids to san francisco, the boy with orange hair, the man with khaki shorts, the man with mustache are all the feature of ourselves. Author effectively dissolves his thought into his episode in the airport delay time.

I think that he wanted readers to think one more about what we truly are. Whether or not it is a simple, unimportant thing, the existence itself has its own value. He wanted to inform and review our figure through this essay.

Question1. Why did Sedaris thinks that knowing what we truly are is important?

Question2. Is it righteous to blame things only based on my situation like the man wearing khaki shorts and the man with mustache?

  1. I like when you say this, "The author thinks a lot about the true beings of us, which can be shown on "But what if this is who we truly are, and the airports's just a forum that allows us to be our real selves, not just hateful but gloriously so?(277)". He saw each forms of different individual beings in the airport." That hints at his purpose, for sure.
